About Our Worship

We are traditional and we love it. This is a deeply rooted way to worship that transcends our human experience.

What if I am lost, new, or don't know how to do it?

We use an easy to follow worship folder which includes most of the service. It is also used by many throughout the week for encouragement. Try it out a few times, you just might like it as much as we do.

What if my kids are noisy?

That means they are in church, worshiping with you, the family, which we love! We believe it helps bring them closer together. We do excuse our younger children during the sermon for their own message. See our Youth in Truth page for more. 

"Traditional" looks and sounds fancy. Do I need to dress up?

We do consider worship a time to respect and reflect, but we don't have a certain dress code. We promise not to judge you on mere appearance but to get to know you since you are brave enough to walk through our door.

In God's Presence

• Welcome - The first thing you notice when you walk in is a baptismal font, a mark that we are redeemed by God.
• Confession of Sins - We know that we are not perfect. We don't admit mistakes, rather we confess our sins because God came to save sinners, not "mistakers" (James 5:15-16).
• Absolution - After we confess, our joy is hearing these words "You are forgiven" (John 20:23).
• Praise and Prayer - Being restored to a right relationship with God, we love to praise him (Psalm 50:15). 

Hearing from God

• The Word - This is the most important part of our worship. Each Sunday, we hear from three important parts of the Bible (1 Timothy 4:13):
  • The Old Testament - everything written before Jesus was born (Luke 24:44)
  • The Epistles - a word that means "letters" which were written to churches or people about Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:1)
  •  The Gospels - the history of Jesus as written in the books Matthew, Mark, Luke and John (John 20:31)
• Sermon - a 15-20 minute application, usually based on one of these three parts from  the Bible that are read on that Sunday.
  
  

Depart with God's Blessing

• Prayer and Praise - After hearing from God's word we pray, praise, and give thanks (Psalm 9:1).
